Diabetes Research in BC: from beta cells to bicycles

Join us at the Vancouver Diabetes Research Day 2021 as we celebrate the accomplishments of our colleagues and the positive impact of their research on people and families living with and at risk for diabetes.

This exciting annual scientific day enables diabetes researchers from across British Columbia to connect, collaborate, and present their research. The meeting is focused on all aspects of diabetes research - from beta cells to bicycles. This trainee-led scientific day is held annually to coincide with the World Health Organization’s “World Diabetes Day”. November 14th is World Diabetes Day and it is held annually on the anniversary of the birth of Dr Frederick Banting, the Canadian Medical Researcher who received the Nobel Prize for his discovery of insulin in 1921. This year we commemorate the 100th anniversary of his transformative discovery.
