Western Canadian Neuromuscular Conference
About the Conference
The Western Canadian Neuromuscular Conference (WCNMC) returns in 2026 following the tremendous success of our 5th edition, held in Calgary in 2024. That event brought together over 130 engaged attendees from across Canada, reaffirming WCNMC’s reputation as a cornerstone event for the neuromuscular community.
Building on that momentum, the 2026 conference will offer a weekend of clinical insights, collaboration, and connection. The program will feature updates on the diagnosis and management of nerve, muscle, and motor neuron diseases—delivered through engaging plenary talks, interactive case discussions, and rich networking opportunities. Both the clinicopathologic case discussions and research presentations will return in 2026, with research now thoughtfully integrated throughout the main program, alongside a dynamic exhibit hall, welcome reception, and conference dinner. WCNMC continues its proud collaboration with Muscular Dystrophy Canada and the Neuromuscular Disease Network for Canada (NMD4C) to broaden reach and amplify impact.
We look forward to welcoming returning and new participants to WCNMC 2026—an event dedicated to advancing neuromuscular research, education, and care across Canada.

Call for Clinocopathologic Cases
With the success of the 2024 Clinocopathologic Case Series session at the last WCNMC, we are pleased to once again invite residents, fellows and trainees to participate in the Clinicopathologic Case Series at the 2026 Conference. This session is an excellent opportunity to present interesting, challenging, or educational neuromuscular cases, and to engage in multidisciplinary discussion with colleagues and experts from across the region. We welcome submissions that highlight diagnostic complexity, novel findings, or important teaching points.
If you are interested in presenting or submitting a case, please contact Dr. Collin Luk with a brief summary of your case, including key clinical, electrophysiologic, imaging, and/or pathologic findings.
We encourage submissions from trainees at all levels.
