Meeting Details

The HiRO Annual Symposium brings together the Canadian community of cardiogenetics specialists, researchers, patients, families and industry partners, with a goal to improve the care of families with inherited heart disease. Learn more and see details of past meetings here.

The 2023 HiRO Symposium will take place June 9-10th 2023 in Ottawa. We're exciting to be welcoming keynote speakers Dr. Kris Cunningham, Dr. Katherine Allan and international guest speaker Dr. Susan Etheridge.

Venue

On Friday June 9th, the meeting will take place at the Shaw Convention Centre. On Saturday June 10th, the morning session and public forum will take place at the National Arts Centre.

Accommodation

We have partnered with Andaz Ottawa ByWard Market to offer a discounted rate of $279 per night to HiRO Symposium attendees. Both venues are walking distance (approx. 10 minutes) from the hotel. Travel Scholarships

Thanks to generous donations to the HiRO Karen Gibbs Bursary Fund, we are able to offer a limited number of travel scholarships for allied health, research coordinators and/or trainees who don't otherwise have institutional funding available to attend the meeting. Applications for the travel scholarships can be submitted here, with a deadline of April 10th 2023.
