alumni UBC Wine Series: Drink Outside the Box

All savvy wine lovers know that diversity is wine’s greatest strength. There are thousands of vine varieties planted around the globe, making over 2.5 billion cases of wine each year, yet we tend to drink the same wines and grapes over and over again. This lively and enlightening tasting is a chance to expand your wine horizons, drink outside the box and learn about less trampled regions and vines.

Noted wine personality and alumna DJ Kearney has joined forces with the innovative wine agency World Wine Synergy to create a tasting event that celebrates delicious diversity. Join DJ, Grace Li and Richard Loo for a romp around Planet Wine as we visit the Canary Islands, Macedonia, Lazio, and northwest Spain, tasting grapes like mencia, xinomavro, malvasia volcanica, bellone, cesanese and a few more special bottles!

Seriously up-market bubbles to start, whites that are both crisp and minerally or emollient and succulent, and summer-ready reds that span light and crunchy to fruit-laden and juicy, your tastebuds and wine choices will never be the same! Insider knowledge, first-in-line access, tasting the rare and the cutting edge, scrumptious reception canapés - this is a priceless way to spend a summer evening.

$70 each (all fees included)

*Reception includes one glass of welcome bubbly and passed canapes and wine tasting includes 6-8 various wines from around the world

-Ticket purchaser must be a UBC alum

-Tickets are final sale and non-refundable

-Maximum 6 tickets per transaction

-Deadline to purchase tickets is July 31st or until tickets last. Tickets are limited; avoid disappointment by purchasing your seats early!
