Annual Molecular Pathobiology Innovative Research Symposium 2025

About the event

Welcome

The organizing committee is happy to welcome you to our AMPIRS 2025 website! Here you will find more information about the objectives of the event, the registration form, abstract/presentation submission, and the schedule.

The event is a full day program supported by the Department of Molecular Pathobiology at the New York University, College of Dentistry. AMPIRS invites students, postdoctoral fellows, research and teaching staff, and faculty members. Our goal is to provide an opportunity to our members to share their research in biomedical sciences. This symposium will serve as a networking platform facilitating the exchange of cutting-edge scientific research in biomedical sciences, as well as offer insightful learning, professional skills development, networking and interdisciplinary collaborations. Fostering collaboration, it is also an occasion for people from different fields within NYU to discover new approaches and techniques to further advance the medical field.

About the event

Keynote Speaker

AMPIRS 2025 is excited to be hosting Dr. Andrea Califano as our keynote speaker!

  • Dr. Andrea Califano

    Dr. Andrea Califano

Department of Systems Biology, Center for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, Center for Cancer Systems Therapeutics, Department of Biomedical Informatics, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics, Department of Medicine Program for Mathematical Genomics

Andrea Califano is the Clyde and Helen Wu Professor of Chemical and Systems Biology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and also holds appointments in the Departments of Biochemistry & Molecular Biophysics, Biomedical Informatics, and Medicine. He recently was appointed as the President of the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub New York.

Dr. Califano is an internationally recognized pioneer in the reverse engineering of gene regulatory networks and in their analysis to systematically and efficiently identify key tumor checkpoint modules, whose aberrant activity is necessary for tumor viability. This has resulted in several clinical trials, including a very innovative N-of-1 study where patients affected by 14 untreatable, lethal cancers are analyzed on an individual basis to prioritize optimal therapeutic strategies, including both single drugs and drug combinations.

He is also the Co-founder and Chief Scientific Advisor of DarwinHealth Inc.
