An Introduction to Sound Therapy
Healing and restoration through sound isn’t a New Age trend—it has been practiced across cultures for centuries to address physical, mental, and emotional imbalances.
Join UBC alumna May Globus, BA’04, a certified sound therapy practitioner and founder of otō healing, for an introduction to this aural-centered experience, rooted—with deep respect—in ancient tradition. During this immersive session, May will use instruments such as crystal bowls, gongs, drums, rattles, and voice to facilitate deep relaxation, reduce stress and anxiety, and promote holistic well-being.
[Participants please note to bring a mat, blanket and pillow or something to put their head on (we want you to be comfortable) and a pair of warm socks. If people's feet get cold, they come out of theta brainwave state, which is where we want them to be during the session.]
