Bethune Round Table 2025

The 2025 Bethune Roundtable Conference will be hosted by the University of Calgary's Department of Surgery, one of the largest surgical departments in North America. Calgary is a vibrant city nestled in the heart of the prairies with the majestic Rocky Mountains just a short drive away. Calgary ranks one of the top Canadian cities for cultural diversity.

Since its inception in 2001, the Bethune Round Table (BRT) is an annual conference addressing the challenges in delivering accessible, safe surgical care to marginalized patients in low-resource settings. Health professionals from around the world submit abstracts highlighting their innovations and research in surgical, obstetric, and anaesthetic care in underserved areas. The purpose of the BRT is to share knowledge, experiences, innovations, and develop collaboration.

The theme for BRT 2025 is:

Pursuing Equity in Surgical, Obstetric, Trauma and Anaesthesia (SOTA) Care: Bridging the Gap

…. Through Research

…. Through Multidirectional Teaching and Learning Programs

…. Through Multidisciplinary Innovations

…. In Hostile Environments

BRT 2025 is scheduled for May 23 - 25, 2025 and will take place at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary. It will be a hybrid meeting with in-person and virtual presentations.
