Program Learning Objectives
By the end of this event, learners will be able to:
Describe key principles and current challenges in global surgical care, including equitable access and international partnerships.
Analyze diverse surgical care strategies and research findings presented by MGSC students and Global Surgery Lab contributors.
Apply insights from expert lectures and panel discussions to real-world contexts, including patient care considerations in varied health systems.
Evaluate how global surgery initiatives at UBC and in British Columbia contribute to broader surgical care equity and innovation.
Engage in reflective discussions with peers and experts to support ongoing development in global surgical care practice and scholarship.

Please note we are nearing capacity for in person registrations. Please register for in person by April 30, 2026 as we will be ending in person registrations after that.
The Division of Continuing Professional Development, University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine (UBC CPD) is fully accredited by the Continuing Medical Education Accreditation Committee (CACME) to provide CPD credits for physicians. This activity is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by UBC CPD.
