2024 CLS Annual Users' Meeting

The CLS Annual Users' Meeting is an opportunity to showcase some of the world-class research happening at our facility, and to provide the latest updates. Here you will find more information about the speakers, the schedule, and the research.

This year, our AUM will include a virtual program of facility updates, parallel scientific sessions, and presentations from CLS and UEC award winners on October 24-25, 2024, along with an in-person day of events at the University of Waterloo on October 22, 2024 that will also be broadcast live to virtual participants.

  • Registration for in-person attendance in Waterloo - September 20, 2024
  • Poster Submission - October 14, 2024
  • Registration for virtual attendance - October 24, 2024

Poster Presentations

Posters submitted by AUM participants will be displayed throughout the day of in-person activities on October 22 in Waterloo, as well as on this website for the duration of the AUM. Video presentations will also be available on this website for the duration of the AUM, and accessible via a scannable QR code posted next to physical posters.

Poster submissions from students or postdocs will be eligible for poster prizes. For these prizes, posters will be judged based on:

  • Description of the experiment
  • Data analysis and expression
  • Conclusions
  • References & Acknowledgements
  • Overall Appearance
  • Layout

Submitting a Poster

To submit a poster at the AUM, please register for the AUM and then create a Submission using the same email address used at registration.

Note that submissions can be edited following the deadline. Poster files can be added to submissions closer to the AUM. Poster presenters will be asked to submit:

  • a PDF poster file no larger than 76.2cm x 101.6cm (30" x 40")
  • a 2-3 minute video presentation of your poster

To ensure that presenters can focus on their presentations, CLS staff will handle the printing of all posters using uploaded files. Note that posters exceeding the size parameters will be scaled down. If presenters attend the in-person events in Waterloo on October 22, they may take their printed posters with them when they leave.
