In particular, he is interested in exploring how physics-based models and data-driven machine learning techniques can be unified to better understand, model, interpret, and recreate the richness of our visual world.

Odile Liboiron-Ladouceur - Professor at McGill University Bio : She holds a Canadian Research Chair in the area of Photonic Integration for data communications and emerging applications such as computing for AI. Our research focus is the use of photonic technologies towards data communication within computing platforms and communication systems.

Simon Thibault - Full Professor, Director of the Department of Physics, Engineering Physics and Optics and Optical Design Researcher, Université Laval Bio : He holds NSERC Industrial Research Chair in Optical Design since 2008. The Chair focuses on the development of advanced optical systems and optical design techniques, as well as manufacturing and characterization methods, and is integrated with the Laboratoire de recherche en ingénierie optique (LRIO), which he has also headed since 2008. He is currently scientific manager for optical component manufacturing (diamond turning and polishing of optics).
