Conference Information
The CSA will be participating in the 2025 Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS) Congress at George Brown College in Toronto, Ontario from Sunday, June 1 through Thursday, June 5. This Conference will be held fully in-person at the Waterfront Campus. Learn More

Participation Policy Compliance Deadline: April 15, 2025.
All session chairs, moderators, discussants, presenters, and panelists must be members of the Canadian Sociological Association (CSA) and register for the applicable Conference section. Those not in compliance by the deadline will be removed from the Conference Program.

The CSA Office will be verifying the information and reserves the right to withdraw participants from the Conference Program and/or website for non-compliance with our Conference Participation Policies.
Presentation Sessions
Sessions are 90 minutes which includes time for the welcome and introductions (10 minutes), presentations (60 minutes), and audience question period (20 minutes).
In-person participants typically present orally with slides using audio-visual equipment set up in the room (a projector, screen, computer, and internet access).
Virtual participants will be utilizing Zoom to share their screen and slides while presenting orally.
Each session will have between 3 and 5 presentations.
Presentations must proceed in the order listed in the program.
Presenters will be given between 12-20 minutes each depending on the number of presentations in the session: 3 presentations - 20 minutes each; 4 presentations - 15 minutes each; 5 presentations - 12 minutes each.
Roundtable Sessions
Approximately 6-8 sessions will be held concurrently in one large room.
Each session will be assigned to one table in the room and will seat 8 people.
Audio-visual equipment will not be available for slides. In-person participants will present orally and may include hand-outs.
Each session will have between 3 and 6 presentations.
Presentations must proceed in the order listed in the program.
Sessions are 90 minutes which includes time for the welcome and introductions (10 minutes), presentations (60 minutes), and discussion period (20 minutes).
Presenters will be given a certain amount of time set by the session organizer to discuss their work and allow time for group discussion among the roundtable participants.
Poster Sessions
In-person and virtual presenters will be scheduled for a specific day and time-period to speak about their work with delegates in an informal group setting.
Posters may be uploaded to the Conference website in advance along with an optional pre-recorded video about the work being presented. Details will be posted once finalized.
Panel Sessions
Sessions are 90 minutes which includes time for the welcome and introductions (10 minutes), group discussion (60 minutes), and audience question period (20 minutes).
Sessions will be scheduled during the time slots listed below (Eastern Time zone). There will be 30-minute breaks between sessions in the morning and afternoon and a 90-minute break over the lunch period.
