Who must enter the VAT number?

If the order is placed in the name of a business/company (the company name was entered in the billing address) based in the EU or Norway, Switzerland and United Kingdom, a valid VAT identification number must be entered. VIES VAT number validation

If the order is in the name of a private individual (Croatian citizen), the VAT number is not mandatory but recommended.

For all others (companies and private individuals outside EU or Norway, Switzerland and United Kingdom) the VAT number is not mandatory.

IMPORTANT

If you want the VAT (OIB) number to appear on the preliminary invoice, please enter it on the Invoice Info screen (at the next step) after the company name (i.e. Ruđer Bošković Institute, VAT: 123456789). Otherwise, your VAT (OIB) number will appear on the FINAL invoice once the conference is over.
