EPIP 2025 Conference

10-12 September 2025, Antwerp, Belgium

1. About Antwerp

Antwerp is the second most populated city in Belgium after Brussels. Its metropolitan area gathers approximately 1.2 million inhabitants. Known as the "Diamond Capital of the World," Antwerp boasts a dazzling heritage of craftsmanship. The city's iconic landmarks include Antwerp Central station, the majestic Cathedral of Our Lady, the 16th-century Antwerp City Hall, and modern buildings such as the Justice Palace and the famed MAS museum. The city has a lively arts scene, including the Royal Museum of Fine Arts and the Rubens House, celebrating its connection to the Flemish Baroque master. Antwerp’s dynamic port, one of Europe’s largest, underscores its role as a global hub of trade and ideas. The city offers a mix of picturesque cobblestone streets, modern architecture, and vibrant markets. In September, the mild weather adds charm to exploring Antwerp’s café-lined squares and trendy boutiques.
