Welcome from the Meeting Co-chairs

Dear Colleagues,

The University Health Network’s Toronto Centre for Liver Disease is thrilled to announce the return of the Jenny Heathcote Hepatology Update. 2022 features a 1-day Winter Edition followed by a 2-day Fall Edition delivered in tandem with the Sheila Sherlock Research Day and Nurse & Allied Health Update.

As Ontario’s premier event for liver education, this annual series of meetings provides updates in best practices for liver disease and covers ongoing research in a variety of liver-related topics allowing for a significant impact on the future practice of Clinical Hepatology.

The Jenny Heathcote Hepatology Update attracts participation from hepatologists, gastroenterologists, general practitioners, nurses, allied healthcare professionals and industry professionals, fostering collaboration, support, coordination and evidence-based practice amongst health professionals managing liver diseases amongst patients.

The 2022 programs will feature UHN faculty plus a selection of leading national and international speakers. The virtual format of the Winter meeting will allow us to have international experts in liver cancer, fatty liver, viral hepatitis, and autoimmune liver disease, which will be an excellent complement to our local faculty. We will continue the tradition of inviting the Sheila Sherlock Visiting Professor in the Fall to add to the illustrious list of hepatologists who have joined the clinical and research events.

With an exciting schedule of liver programs planned for 2022, we invite all our colleagues to join us at the 2022 Hepatology Update series of virtual and in-person educational events.

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Dr. Gideon Hirschfield, Toronto Centre for Liver Disease &,

Dr. Cynthia Tsien, Ajmera Transplant Centre Toronto
