Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
Define the embryogenesis, genetics, morphology, pathophysiology, and clinical manifestations of the various cardiac defects encountered in the fetus and neonates.

Describe the differences in cardiovascular physiology and manifestations of cardiovascular diseases and cardiac rhythm disturbances in the fetus and the newborn and discuss how they affect the management of the fetus and the newborn.
Review medical, interventional and surgical management of discussed diseases affecting the fetal and neonatal cardiovascular system.
Discuss diagnostic methods for diagnosing cardiac conditions affecting the fetus and the neonate.
Apply the discussed imaging techniques in scanning sessions to enhance proficiency in fetal echocardiography to improve diagnostic accuracy.
Develop imaging skills during interactive scanning sessions, collaborating with fetal cardiologists, sonographers, and application specialists to learn the latest advances in fetal echocardiography.

Sign into the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine’s Office of CME’s website: www.cme.northwestern.edu using the email used to register for this activity. *First time users see below.
Click on “My CME” on the top right-hand side of the homepage.
Click on “Evaluation & Certificate”. Choose the activity for which you wish to evaluate and claim credit. You will be asked to enter the number of credits you are claiming which should reflect the extent to which you participated in the activity.
Upon completion of the activity evaluation, your certificate will auto-generate. Please print or save a copy for your records. All credits, including MOC points, received from participation in Northwestern University CME activities will be reflected on your transcript, which can be accessed anytime under MyCME --> Transcript.
You must fill out an evaluation to receive a certificate. The evaluation will no longer be available after Friday, October 25, 2024.
