    Tony Lucero, Professor, Chair - Comparative History of Ideas

    The Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies, University of Washington

    José Antonio Lucero was born in El Paso, Texas, and raised on both sides of the Mexico-US border. His main research and teaching interests include Indigenous politics, social movements, Latin American politics, and borderlands.

    Jesús Martínez-Gómez, Post-Doctoral Fellow

    Blackman Lab, The Department of Plant & Microbial Biology, UC Berkeley

    Jesús Martínez-Gómez is an evolutionary botanist interested in the processes that give rise to diverse patterns of morphology. At U.C., Berkeley he is both a NSF Post-Doctoral Fellow and U.C. Presidential Post-Doctoral Fellow investigating the microevolutionary processes that lead to differences in flowering architecture in Mimulus (syn. Erythranthe).

  • Azeb Madebo, Assistant Professor

    Azeb Madebo, Assistant Professor

    Department of Communication Studies, University of Portland

    Azeb Madebo (she/her) is a digital media scholar and cultural studies scholar specializing in Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa region. She is particularly fascinated by online activism, engagement, and the use of communication technologies by Africans for sociopolitical ends and the politics of identity—racial, national, and ethnic—in Africa and its diaspora communities.
