Join your colleagues from across the North East for the

7th Annual North East Geriatric Refresher Day!

This virtual event is being held on Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Join us as we bring together experts in geriatrics to deliver practical education sessions for health care professionals serving older adults across Northeastern Ontario.

This year’s conference will deliver educational programming dedicated to geriatrics across the continuum of care. The conference will provide participants with the latest developments in evidence-informed care practices in geriatrics, and endeavors to foster innovative and collaborative healthcare delivery to older adults.

Speakers and session topics have been selected to provide meaningful educational opportunities to individuals with varying degrees of experience in geriatrics.

Objectives

At the end of this program, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe and integrate promising practices in geriatrics to optimize care of frail older adults.
  2. Engage patients, families, and interdisciplinary health professionals in shared decision-making when caring for older adults.
  3. Enhance the practice of maintaining professional and personal wellbeing while providing specialized care to frail older adults in Northeastern Ontario.

This conference is open to: primary care providers, specialists, registered nurses, allied health professionals, administrative professionals, medical learners, and all health care disciplines with an interest in geriatrics.

Registration fees

  • All disciplines: $75.00
  • Students & Residents: $50.00

Cancellation Policy

Please find below the fees for cancellation. You will be refunded your registration fee less the amounts noted below.

  1. Up-to September 30th: $25.00
  2. October 1st to October 9th: $40.00
  3. October 10th to October 20th: No Refund

Accreditation & Certification Satement

This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by the Continuing Education and Professional Development Office at NOSM University for up to 4.5 Mainpro+ credit(s).
