Please join us for the International Conference on Aquatic Invasive Species, ICAIS 2024, to be held May 12 - 16, 2024 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

The conference is co-hosted by Dalhousie University and Nova Scotia Fisheries and Aquaculture, with the support of Canada’s Invasive Species Centre, the ICAIS Secretariat.

About ICAIS

The International Conference on Aquatic Invasive Species (ICAIS) is the most comprehensive international forum to address new and emerging issues related to aquatic invasive species (AIS) in freshwater, marine and estuarine environments.

ICAIS provides an international platform for the presentation of research to advance global action to limit the introduction and spread of AIS worldwide and serves as a catalyst for international collaboration on research and management projects.

Through knowledge sharing and networking, ICAIS connects those involved in science and policy with practitioners and industry professionals on the front lines of AIS prevention and management.

Conference Delivery

Participating in-person at ICAIS 2024 maximizes the conference attendee’s experience through:

· direct interaction with all presenters and exhibitors;

· networking with others in formal and informal settings;

· participation in social events, pre-conference tour, post-conference scientific field trip; and

· experiencing all that Halifax has to offer as a culturally diverse city.

The ICAIS 2024 organizers recognize that for many people the option to travel to participate in-person may not be possible due to economics, employment restrictions, and many other reasons. There is the option for virtual participation in a limited capacity.

Only keynote and plenary speakers will be recorded in real-time and live streamed for those joining online. Virtual participants can submit questions to keynote and plenary speakers in real-time (Atlantic time) through the Q&A function in the virtual platform or through the message function in Fourwaves. Recordings of keynote and plenary speakers will be available online to be viewed by all conference participants - both virtual and in-person - at their convenience.

Concurrent session and the poster session will not be live-streamed. All concurrent session and poster presenters are to submit pre-recorded versions of their presentations and these will be available on line to be viewed by all conference participants - both virtual and in person - within one hour of each session concluding.

Virtual participants can submit questions to concurrent session and poster presenters through the message function in Fourwaves. Details of how to submit questions to presenters is on the ICAIS website.
