Getting to Loyola Marymount University (LMU)
LMU’s Westchester campus is located about 4 miles (6.5 km) north of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), making it one of the most conveniently located universities in the city.

Arrival from Los Angeles Airports
🛫 From Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) - Closest airport (10-15 minutes)
Taxi/Rideshare (Uber/Lyft): $20-$35, depending on traffic. Pick-up zones are designated at LAX-it lot.
Public Transit:
Take the LAX Shuttle "G" to Aviation/LAX Station.
Transfer to the Metro C (Green) Line eastbound to Aviation/LAX Station.
From there, connect via bus or rideshare to LMU. (~$1.75 for Metro fare).
Campus Shuttle: LMU does not run a direct airport shuttle, but private shuttle companies (SuperShuttle, PrimeTime Shuttle) are available. (~$25-$40).
🛫 From Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) - ~25 miles northeast (50-70 minutes)
Taxi/Rideshare: $60-$90, depending on traffic.
Public Transit:
Take the Metrolink Ventura County Line or Amtrak to Union Station.
From Union Station, transfer to Metro Rail (Red/Purple to Blue/Expo, then bus or rideshare to LMU). (~$10 total).
🛫 From Long Beach Airport (LGB) - ~25 miles south (40-60 minutes)
Taxi/Rideshare: $55-$80.
Public Transit:
Take Long Beach Transit Bus Route 111 to Metro Rail connections, then continue toward LMU via bus/rideshare. (~$2-$5).
🛫 From John Wayne Airport (SNA, Orange County) - ~45 miles southeast (60-90 minutes)
Taxi/Rideshare: $80-$120.
Public Transit: Service is limited; a combination of bus and train connections to Union Station, then onward to LMU (~$15-$20, but 2-3 hours).
Getting Around Los Angeles
Metro Rail & Bus: Fares are $1.75 per ride, capped at $5 daily with a TAP card or contactless payment.
TAP Card: Can be purchased at Metro stations or retailers.
Rideshare (Uber/Lyft): Widely available, often the most convenient option for LMU due to limited direct rail connections.
Driving: If renting a car, parking on campus is available but may require a daily permit (~$15/day).
