Paper Symposia must be organized and submitted as a group of presentations (one chair and a maximum of 4 talks; talks are 15-20 minutes depending on number of talks in symposium).

A Chair is required for a Paper Symposium. A chair organizes and directs the symposium session, introduces the presenters, and ensures that time limits are strictly observed. The chair should be prepared to lead, stimulate, and coordinate the open discussion with the audience if there is no discussant. This role is protected against schedule conflicts but does not count toward the maximum number of 2 presenting roles. A person could take both the Chair and presenter roles for a symposium.

A Discussant is optional. The discussant will comment on the papers included in the symposium (max. 10-15 minutes) and lead/moderate the discussion (min. 15 minutes). This role is protected against schedule conflicts but does not count toward the maximum number of 2 presenting roles.

There must be one identified presenting author per paper. Please clearly identify all author names, email addresses and institutions. Confirm that the names and institutions are correctly spelled out.

Paper Symposia must have representation from multiple institutions.

A 350-word abstract is required for every paper submitted as part of a symposium. Please provide an abstract, using the following subheadings: (a) Background, (b) Methods, (c) Findings, (d) Conclusions. Abstracts will be viewable in the online program. Each Paper Presentation must be given a name no longer than 15 words.

In addition, a 500-word unstructured comprehensive statement that summarizes the paper presentations, their importance and their contribution is required. Comprehensive statements will be viewable in the online program. Please provide a symposium title no longer than 15 words.

Do not provide funding information in the abstracts, but feel free to do so during the presentation.

References are not mandatory, but if applicable, use standard reference citations (e.g., last name(s), year) but do not include a reference list.

Figures/Tables are encouraged but not mandatory and will not count towards the maximum word count.
