Welcome to the call for papers website for the MATTRIS 2026 by A3TS Conference!
We are delighted to invite you to this unmissable event, which will bring together experts, researchers and industry professionals to discuss the latest advances in heat treatment and surface engineering.
The central theme of the A3TS congress will be :“Contribution of heat treatments and surface engineering to a high-performance and sustainable industry.”
CALL FOR PAPERS (EXTENDED DATE UNTIL 2026, MARCH, 2nd)
MATTRIS 2026 will explore how heat treatments and surface engineering can help improve the efficiency, performance and sustainability of mechanical and electrical systems, while helping to reduce the carbon footprint and the impact of production processes on health and the environment.
Particular attention will be paid to the technologies required for the electrification of industrial and transport sectors: electric powertrains, batteries, electrolysers, fuel cells, etc.
The topics covered will include:
Reducing energy consumption and the carbon footprint generated by heat and thermochemical treatments: processes, furnaces, thermal system technologies, ….
Surface treatments and coatings technologies with low environmental impact: dry coatings, REACH-compliant solutions, …
Functional properties provided by treatments: hardness, fatigue resistance, corrosion resistance, weight reduction, tribology, conductivity and reactivity of surfaces, etc.
Surface repair and recoating technologies to increase lifetime of components
Treatments associated with new materials and forming technologies
Testing solutions (NDT, real-time testing, etc.)
Contribution of digital simulation and artificial intelligence to the development of new technologies and the efficiency of production lines
Oral presentations may be given in French or English. Real-time machine translation will be projected on screen during your presentation.

You may submit a proposal for an oral presentation or poster during the call for papers period, which runs until 31 January 2026.
Please visit the ‘Submission’ page of the website and follow the submission instructions provided.
Please submit your abstracts for an oral presentation (0.5 to 2 pages with figures) or a poster (100 to 300 words).
Please select ONLY ONE TOPIC from the list provided (the one you think is most relevant to your presentation).
Duration: Oral presentations will last 25 minutes, including time for questions.
Language: Presentations will be given in French or English with automatic translation via subtitles in the other language. In all cases, we recommend that slide texts be written in ENGLISH to make it easier for non-French-speaking conference attendees to follow the conference.
Presentation materials: Your presentation materials must be uploaded in .ppt and .pdf format to your personal space on this website by 15 June 2026 at the latest. We recommend that you also bring a USB stick with the presentation file to avoid any problems.
Alternatively, personal laptops may be used, but you must ensure that they are compatible with the LCD projector before the session begins. Please also bring a USB stick as a backup.
Here are the instructions if you are presenting a poster:
Your poster must be uploaded in .pdf format to this website in your personal space at least two weeks before the conference.
Your poster should be printed in the following size: 90 cm wide × 150 cm high (A0). It will be displayed at the exhibition during the event (the exact location and times of the poster sessions will be announced at a later date). Upon arrival, please report to the A3TS reception desk with your poster.
You will receive an email informing you of the status of your proposal at the end of the submission period, no later than 15 February 2026. In the meantime, if you have any questions, you can contact A3TS directly at a3ts@a3ts.org or on +33(1) 45.26.22.35.

If your conference or poster proposal is accepted, you will benefit from the special ‘Speaker’ rate.
