The McGill Magnetic Resonance Facilities (Chemistry NMR/EPR and Quebec/Eastern Canada High Field NMR Facility) have been recovering and recycling helium since April 2021. We continuously collect boiloff from eight magnets, ranging in size from 300 MHz to a pumped 800 MHz. In addition, we can connect the EPR to the recovery line when running experiments at ultra-low temperature cooled by liquid helium. We also collect boiloff during magnet fills. We recover about 90% of the liquid helium that goes into the instruments.

Elena Baglietto, from Quantum Technology Corp, will be available after talks end on Sunday to lead a tour of the system. Please RSVP as per below.
