Welcome to the 10th Anniversary North of 44 Conference!

As Primary Care Providers in the North, we share a distinct identity from our Southern counterparts. The North of 44 Conference was created to reflect the holistic needs of the “generalist” nature of our practices, while respecting the geographic realities and diverse service models that define our region.

Our vision extends beyond the event itself. We aim to foster a Community of Learning that brings together NOSM U learners, Academic and Community Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Multidisciplinary Health Professionals. This shared space for connection and collaboration will strengthen our academic network, enrich our professional growth, and help shape a dynamic, integrated medical community for the future.

This year marks a special milestone—our 10-year anniversary—and we’re thrilled to celebrate it with you on Halloween! We’ve carefully designed the program timeline so you can fully engage in the conference and still make it home in time for an evening of trick-or-treating fun.

We can’t wait to welcome you to this year’s special gathering of North of 44!

Learning Objectives

The following are the main learning outcomes that we hope will be achieved through this event. Following the conference, participants will be able to:

  1. Integrate clinical pearls in musculoskeletal medicine, cognitive-behavioural therapy, and endometriosis management to enhance diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in family medicine practice. (Medical Expert)

  2. Apply specialty-informed insights to enhance primary care management of cardiovascular, neurological, and oncological concerns. (Medical Expert, Professional)

  3. Identify key indicators of substance use disorders and mental health needs that warrant referral to or collaboration with RAAM clinic services. (Medical Expert, Collaborator)

  4. Facilitate effective communication with patients and substitute decision-makers (SDMs) during advanced care planning. (Communicator)
