About Trent University

Trent University is located in Peterborough-Nogojiwanong on the treaty and traditional territory of the Mississauga Anishinaabeg. Trent is situated along both sides of the Otonabee River (Odenabe, meaning ‘river that beats like a heart’). The campus provides a perfect backdrop for the summit, with nearly 1,400 acres of nature areas, more than 30 km of trails, along with unique architecture and spaces to inspire gathering, creativity, and spending time in and out of doors.

Accommodation

Staying at Trent University

On-site residence accommodation is being provided by Trent University. Staying on site is an affordable and convenient option for summit participants, as all sessions and events are being held on campus.

Guest Rooms: Each room has one double bed with sheets, blankets, pillows and pillowcases provided. There are semi-private washrooms (one washroom shared between two rooms) with towels, soap and shampoo provided. Guests need to provide their own toiletries, hair dryers, etc. Rooms have air conditioning and elevator access.

Rate: Nightly room rate is $82.00 + HST (single or double occupancy) includes parking

Payment: Payment in full is required on arrival. Guests will be contacted prior to arrival to provide credit card details to hold the reservation. Trent accepts Visa, MasterCard and debit cards.

Cancellations and Refunds: There is no charge for cancellations received more than 5 days prior to arrival date. For cancellations less than 5 days prior to arrival, an amount equal to one night’s accommodation will be charged per room being cancelled.

Checking in and out: Check-in time is between 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm at Gzowski College at Symons Campus. A $25.00 surcharge will apply for check-ins after 10:00 pm.

Check-out time is 1:00 pm. Late check-out times must be arranged in advance and are based on availability.

Travel to Peterborough

By Air

Pearson International Airport is serviced by Air Canada, WestJet, Porter Airlines and Flair.

Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport is serviced by Air Canada and Porter Airlines. Check with the airlines for flight options.

Train, bus, and self-driving options are available to travel between the airports and Trent University. See below for more information.

By Via Rail

Via Rail has a stop at Durham College Station, 915 Bloor Street West, Oshawa, ON L1J 7E2. From there you can continue your journey to Trent via GO Transit (see below).

GO Transit offers a bus service between Oshawa’s Durham College Station and Trent University. Check Go Transit’s website for schedules and rates.

By Car

Peterborough is a 90-minute drive from Toronto, three hours from Ottawa, and five hours from Montreal. On-site parking is available at Trent University.
