August 15-17, 2025 in Prince George, at the Courtyard By Marriott.
We are excited to offer Northern physicians certification as Independent Practitioners with the Canadian Point of Care Ultrasound Society, close to your home!
This high demand course is targeted for those working in Oncology, Emergency and Hospital based care. Working in the North we understand the unique challenges faced by northern physicians and have formatted the ultrasound bootcamp to meet these needs.
You will learn a combination of heart, lung, abdominal and DVT exams. With the most advanced ultrasound machines you will scan-96 models over 3 days of workshop. You will confidently be able to differentiate between heart failure, pneumonia, pleural effusion and features of pulmonary embolism allowing for earlier treatment and potentially reducing the need for patient travel. There will also be opportunity to learn procedural tips for pleural effusions and ascites on real models with positive findings.
All instructors are national level experienced physicians travelling from all over Canada to teach the course in Prince George. Upon successful completion of the bootcamp, participants will be eligible for certification with the Canadian Point of Care Ultrasound Society as independent practitioners in the assessment of abdominal free fluid, common pulmonary pathology, pericardial effusion, global cardiac function, and DVT.
Participants will receive up to 30 Mainpro+ and CFPC credits or 72 RCPSC credits for completing IP Certification.
A large portion of the workshop costs are subsidized by RCCbc SPIFI funds https://rccbc.ca/initiatives/rcme-programs/spifi/ and Prince George RCME Funding.
