After the incredible success of OUI 2024 at Harvard Business School, the OUI community is invited to meet again for this year's OUI conference, which will take place in Lisbon at Nova School of Business and Economics on July 21st- 22nd 2025.

David Li
Shenzhen Open Innovation Lab
David Li has been contributing to open source software since 1990. He is a member of Free Software Foundation, committer to Apache projects and board director of ObjectWeb. Over the past 20 years, David has started several open source software projects and contributed to many others. In 2010, he co-founded XinCheJian, the first hackerspace in China to promote hacker/maker culture and open source hardware. In 2011, he co-founded Hacked Matter, a think tank on makers and open innovation. He In the past two years, he has become interested in urban farming and is an enthusiastic proponent of aquaponics, which brings the spirit of open source to farming and gardening. In 2015, he co-founded Maker Collider, a platform to develop next-generation IoT from Maker community. He is also the director of Shenzhen Open Innovation Lab.
Anne-Laure Fayard
Nova School of Business and Economics
Anne-Laure Fayard is Full Professor at Nova SBE and the ERA Chair in Social Innovation. She is also Visiting Senior Fellow in the Department of Management at London School of Economics. Anne-Laure is an ethnographer of work, whose interests involve collaboration, innovation, design technology. Her work has been published in several leading journals such as Administrative Science Quarterly, Organization Science, Information System Research and Harvard Business Review. She is also the author with Anca Metiu of The Power of Writing in Organizations and has co-edited with Raza Mir The Routledge Companion to Anthropology and Business.
Her research as well as social innovation projects has been frequently highlighted in major newspapers such as New York Times, Financial Times, The Economist, The Guardian and Le Monde.
Prior to joining NOVA, Anne-Laure was a faculty member at New York University where she was the Founding Faculty advisor for the Design Lab @ NYU MakerSpace and Design for America of NYU. She had been faculty at INSEAD in Singapore and France. She has held visiting positions at the Center of Sociology of Innovation at Ecole des Mines in Paris and at Design London and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Group at the Imperial College Business School in London.
Eric Von Hippel
MIT Sloan School of Management
Eric Von Hippel is a Professor of Technological Innovation in the MIT Sloan School of Management where he specializes in research related to the nature and economics of distributed and free innovation. He is best known for his work in developing the concept of open and user innovation and as the founder of the Open and User Innovation Society (OUI), which he led for over 20 years.

Shannon Heald
University of Chicago
Shannon Heald is Assistant Instructional Professor at the Department of Psychology and the College of the University of Chicago, where she is also an affiliated researcher at the APEX Lab (Attention, Perception & EXperience Lab). Her work focus on how our past experiences shape and guide (1) how we perceive the world, (2) how we communicate with others and (3) how we think and behave.
