The Palliative Care Education Program delivers both didactic educational sessions and follow up clinical rounds sessions that offer participants multiple opportunities to interact, discuss and ask case related questions. Education Sessions take place on the first Thursday of each month and are between 1 and 2 hours in length. Hosted virtually on the WebEx platform, we welcome expert speakers that specialize in particular areas of Palliative Care in Northern Ontario, who will focus on an identified need/topic, addressing the learning objectives created by the SPC. Clinical Rounds take place on the third Thursday of the month and are one hour in length. Hosted virtually on the WebEx platform, this session is a follow up to the education session held earlier in the month and allows participants an opportunity to bring case related questions to discuss in a more clinical format.
The target audience includes physicians, residents, learners, RNs, NPs, other health care providers and Palliative Care educators offering compassionate, patient centered Palliative Care in the Northeast, however since we are virtual we invite participants from all across Northern Ontario to join.
