PreVenture Facilitator Training 2024 - US Residents Only

PreVenture is an evidence-based prevention program that uses brief, personality-targeted behavioural interventions to promote mental health and delay substance use among youth. Sign up to become a Certified PreVenture Facilitator and bring this evidence-based prevention program to youth in your community.

PreVenture’s Level 1 Facilitator Certification

Level 1 (low fidelity) facilitator training certifies qualified participants to deliver the PreVenture Program. Training includes completion of a mandatory online course (approximately 1 hour) reviewing the science behind PreVenture prior to attending 2 days (6 hrs per day) of interactive online training led by a PreVenture Trainer using the Zoom video conferencing platform. Facilitators will learn how to guide youth through workshops designed to help them understand how their personality impacts their life and assist them with learning adaptive coping skills to help them achieve their goals.

In order to participate in this online training and receive PreVenture Certification, Participants must attend the full training session and must have working cameras and microphones on their devices. Participants are required and indeed, expected to participate in discussion and practicum throughout the training.

Participants must agree to PreVenture’s terms and conditions before attending training. These will be emailed to Participants upon completing registration. If you have a group of 6 or more participants it is possible for your employer/organization to agree to the terms and conditions on behalf of the participants.

Spots are limited so sign up soon!

*In addition to Level 1 Facilitator Certification, we strongly recommend facilitators complete Level 2 Facilitator Certification (high fidelity i.e., supervised practice). This protocol was used in previous randomized controlled trials in which PreVenture training and implementation resulted in significant reductions in substance use and misuse (e.g., Conrod et al., 2013).
