A Tribute to Jason Young’s Legacy in Chaperone Protein Folding

Instead of our usual seminar series, the PRinCE family will be hosting a special seminar to honor the memory and research accomplishments of our friend and colleague, Dr. Jason Young (McGill University). This seminar will take place on Thursday, February 17th at 2pm ET.

The session will start with introductory remarks from former colleagues and friends of Dr. Young:

Walid A. Houry (University of Toronto)

David Y. Thomas (McGill University)

F. Ulrich Hartl (Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry, Germany)

The opening remarks will be followed by two presentations (25 min + 5 min questions) featuring two speakers who have recently collaborated with Dr. Young:

Dr. Martin Duennwald (Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, Western University, Canada)

Presentation title: Chaperoning protein misfolding in ALS

Dr. Carlos H I Ramos (Chemistry Institute, University of Campinas UNICAMP, Brazil)

Presentation title: The chaperone HSPB1 prepares protein aggregates for resolubilization by HSP70

Following the presentations, the zoom session will be open for remarks from the audience.

For more information about the seminar and zoom details, please register to be added to the PRinCE mailing list.
