A Major Doctoral and Postdoctoral Recruitment Campaign!
The Centre de recherche Azrieli du CHU Sainte-Justine, affiliated with the Université de Montréal, invites talented individuals interested in a doctoral or postdoctoral project in the field of maternal-child health research to submit their application to one of our research projects by November 17, 2024 at the latest.
Candidates selected as part of this recruitment campaign will receive up to $2,500 in mobility award!
More than 30 projects are offered with internationally renowned researchers in several fields: neuroscience, biomedical sciences, genomics, genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology, applied mathematics, pharmaceutical sciences, immunology, computational biology, bioinformatics, physiology, medicine, pharmacology, microbiology, developmental biology, speech therapy, ophthalmology, cognitive sciences, psychology, biomedical engineering, kinesiology, physiotherapy, psychiatry and addiction, epidemiology.
Who are we
The CHU Sainte-Justine (Centre hospitalier universitaire Sainte-Justine) is a major hospital and research center specializing in maternal and pediatric health, located in Montreal (Quebec, Canada). It is affiliated with the Université de Montréal and is one of the largest pediatric hospitals in North America.
Its research center is internationally renowned, and has the ambition to transform the lives of generations, particularly through precision health. Through cutting-edge research conducted in six areas of maternal-child health, its teams contribute to developing new knowledge and improving the health of patients, from conception to adulthood.

Eligibility Criteria
- Have an excellent academic record and/or having a strong publication record.
- Plan to begin a Ph.D. program or a postdoctoral internship under the supervision of a researcher from CR-CHU Sainte-Justine no later than the fall term following the competition.
- A postponement is possible for students who have delays caused by immigration procedures. However, applications for admission must be submitted before the University deadline for the fall term following the event.
- Future master students who wish to apply to a PhD project with the intention of doing a fast-tracking are welcome to apply, but will not be eligible for a Mobility Award.
- Postdoctoral fellowship: The date of the PhD degree should not exceed 12 months prior; at the end of application submission.
- People who do not meet this criteria may apply, but will not be eligible for a mobility award.
- Please note that in Canada, postdoctoral fellowships are limited to 5 years after the date indicated on the PhD diploma.
- People who have had a child after obtaining the PhD may benefit from an additional 18 months of eligibility (per child).
Amounts
Recruited candidates will receive a scholarship1 to cover travel and/or moving expenses, depending on their place of residence at the time of application:
Candidate in the province of Quebec: $500 CAD
Candidate from a neighboring province or state2: $1,000 CAD
Candidate in Canada or United States: $1,500 CAD
Candidate from South America, Africa or Europe: $2,000 CAD
Candidate from Asia or Oceania: $2,500 CAD
Candidate from Nunavut, Nunavik, Yukon, Northwest Territories or Indigenous communities of Canada: $2,500 CAD
1 Scholarships offered until funds are exhausted. The scholarships will be awarded to recipients at the start of their PhD or postdoc training at CHU Sainte-Justine.

Confirmation of recruited candidates: End of December 2024 (at the latest)
Mobility Awards (decisions): January 31, 2025 (at the latest)
