Welcome!

For years, McGill University and Queen's University have partnered, taking turns, to organize and host the Rehabilitation Research Colloquium, where the best and brightest graduate students from various universities showcase innovative work and advances in rehabilitation-related fields.

McGill’s School of Physical and Occupational Therapy is proud to host the 2024 Rehabilitation Research Colloquium -Bridging Disciplines and Innovations: Thinking rehabilitation from an interdisciplinary lens. This colloquium will see presentations on a breadth of topics highlighting the interdisciplinary nature of rehabilitation science and the various foci that can be examined through methodological and topical efforts.

This year's event will be hybrid on May 9th and 10th giving you a chance to visit Montreal in beautiful spring. The organizing committee has been working tirelessly to plan a memorable colloquium.

Meet our Shirley Metcalfe Memorial Lecturer, Prof. Marie-Hélène Boudrias

Prof. Marie-Hélène Boudrias (PT, PhD) is an Associate Professor at McGill University's School of Physical and Occupational Therapy. She is a researcher at the Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital, a site of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Rehabilitation of Greater Montreal (CRIR), for which she acts as responsible for Axe 1, which focuses on research into sensory, motor and cognitive functions and activities. She is a member of the expert committee for CHUM's network of clinics specializing in long COVID-19 and Lyme disease. Prof. Boudrias' research aims better to understand the neurophysiological mechanisms underlying interactions between brain areas. She uses neuroimaging and electrophysiology techniques and cutting-edge data analysis methods to measure these interactions. The aim is to identify biomarkers of aging, stroke and long COVID and design therapeutic interventions specific to each individual to improve/maintain cognitive functions. More recently. Prof. Boudrias has conducted studies to assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the brain and the delivery of rehabilitation services in COVID-19-designated rehabilitation centers in Quebec.
