RHQ26 | Quebec Hydrological Research Conference 2026
In recent years, Quebec has been hit by extreme weather events such as Storm Debby, which struck the Greater Montreal area in August 2024, and the Baie-Saint-Paul floods in May 2023.
These events caused considerable damage and disrupted the lives of many citizens. They are historically unprecedented and have exposed populations and infrastructure to unprecedented levels of risk and vulnerability.
This type of extreme hydrometeorological event, which could strike our territories again, poses major challenges for our societies. How can we design, plan, and prepare for the improbable, the unprecedented, events that will expose our infrastructure, our communities, and our ecosystems to historically unparalleled levels of risk?
The RHQ 2026 conference aims to provide an opportunity for researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas and discuss this topic of paramount importance. The conference will also address more traditional topics in hydrometeorology with a renewed focus on providing researchers and practitioners with an opportunity to exchange ideas and build bridges between the research community and those concerned with adaptation.
Stay tuned, we will have more information to share with you soon!
