The Symposium scientifique sur l’incapacité visuelle et la réadaptation will be held online on February 8th 2022 and will be recorded. Due to the pandemic, many of you will not be able to attend the live event. But don't worry! The day will be fully recorded and available for replay to those who register.
The conference organizers, the Institut Nazareth et Louis-Braille of the CISSS de la Montérégie-Centre, the Centre de réadaptation Lethbridge-Layton-Mackay of the CIUSSS du Centre-Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal and the École d’optométrie, Université de Montréal are looking forward to welcoming you.
Our guest speaker will be Dr. L. Penny Rosenblum, lead author on the report Flatten Accessibility : Impact of COVID-19 on adults who are blind or have low vision in the United States, conducted by the American Foundation for the Blind (https://www.afb.org/research-and-initiatives/flatten-inaccessibility-survey)
Call for abstract
Researchers, students and clinicians in visual disability and rehabilitation are invited to submit an abstract for an oral or poster communication. Communications on Clinical Projects may be submitted, in addition to those on Research Projects. This is an opportunity to present your projects and to stimulate collaboration between clinicians, researchers and students.
Abstract submission deadline: November 28th, 2021

Dr. L. Penny Rosenblum
Vision for Independence, LLC
Dr. Rosenblum is the owner of Vision for Independence, LLC. Previously she has served as the Director of Research at the American Foundation for the Blind and as a career track faculty member at the University of Arizona. Dr. Rosenblum has more than 35 years of experience as a researcher, university professor, and teacher of students with visual impairments. She has published on a variety of topics including the impact of COVID-19 on individuals with visual impairments, supporting students’ development of graphics literacy, Nemeth Code, and how to meet one’s transportation needs as someone with a visual impairment. She has presented throughout the United States and internationally. Dr. Rosenblum lives in Tucson, Arizona and enjoys bicycling, walking, pottery, and scrapbooking.
