Welcome

The Geological Association of Canada (GAC®) and the Mineralogical Association of Canada (MAC) will be returning to St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador for our Joint Annual Meeting from May 25th to 28th, 2026.

Situated on the eastern edge of North America, the province of Newfoundland and Labrador promises to provide a spectacular backdrop for the meeting, and we are excited to announce an exciting lineup of symposia, special sessions, fieldtrips, short courses and workshops.

The meeting will be hosted at the St. John’s Convention Centre in the heart of downtown, close to hotels, restaurants and bars, allowing you to enjoy cutting edge geoscience combined with the rich culture and vibrant nightlife St. John’s has to offer.

Registration for GAC MAC 2026 will open on February 1st

Registration costs are as follows

Early bird registration (before April 10th, 2026)

Full professional registration (GAC or MAC member): $475 plus HST
Full professional registration (non-member): $675 plus HST
Full registration for students, retirees or K-12 teachers (GAC or MAC member): $150 plus HST
Full registration for students, retirees or K-12 teachers (non-member): $225 plus HST

Late registration (after April 10th, 2026)

Full professional registration (GAC or MAC member): $600 plus HST
Full professional registration (non-member): $800 plus HST
Full registration for students, retirees or K-12 teachers (GAC or MAC member): $200 plus HST
Full registration for students, retirees or K-12 teachers (non-member): $300 plus HST

Day passes are available ($250 for GAC and MAC members, $300 for non-members)

Refunds can only be accommodated up to the Early Bird deadline on April 11th 2025. A 10% administrative charge will be applied to ALL refunds requested by participants.

If an event (e.g. field trip or workshop) is cancelled by the local organizing committee for any reason (e.g. low enrolment) all registrants will receive full refunds for that event.
