The International Ethics Conference for Accountants is an annual global gathering organized by UGN Foundation in conjunction with UGN Consulting Services. The conference is open to accountants worldwide, irrespective of qualification, professional accounting organization affiliation, designation, industry, or jurisdiction. It also welcomes stakeholders across the global accounting and finance ecosystem.

Innovation is accelerating, geopolitical shifts are reshaping economies, and uncertainty continues to test the foundations of trust across markets, governments, and institutions. In times like these, the world increasingly looks to the accountancy profession—and to the professional accountant—as a source of sound judgment, ethical leadership, a trusted gatekeeper of finance in the public interest. The need for ethical, resilient, and future-ready professionals has never been more urgent.

Yet the profession is also navigating disruption, reputational challenges, and the continuing impact of accounting scandals. These realities raise an important question: are professional accountants prepared for the future?

Ethics and the public interest are once again taking centre stage as essential pillars of the accounting and finance ecosystem. They are no longer optional ideals for professional accountants or organizations; they are fundamental requirements for building trust, strengthening resilience, and supporting a sustainable economic future for all.

Conference Objectives

The conference seeks to achieve these objectives by drawing on the knowledge and experience of reputable professional accountants and related experts, with discussions anchored in the 2025 International Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants, including the International Independence Standards issued by the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA).
