Workshop ALLS/TrUST 2025

The ALLS/TrUST workshop in ultrafast science and technology aims to bring together the students, professors and scientists of Canada working in ultrafast science and technology that are members of the Advanced Laser Light Source ALLS and/or the Training in Ultrafast Science and Technology program (TrUST). In addition to talks by past, present and (potentially) future ALLS users, we will have a technical school with lecture-style tutorial talks for everyone and hands-on lab experience for students. Students will be invited to share their work during poster sessions and contributed talks.

Schedule overview

• September 28, September 29 and October 3 : Technical school at ALLS, Varennes, QC

• September 30 to October 2 : Conference at the Archives nationales de Montréal, Montreal, QC

• The conference will end around 6:30 p.m. on October 2.

Activity

On Oct. 1, we will organize an excursion for all the participants at the Planétarium de Montréal and the Jardin botanique de Montréal.

Transport

For the conference at Archives nationales : Transport is the responsability of the participants. We invite to choose accomodations close to the site.

For the excursion : We will provide participants with public transport tickets to get to the excursion. It is easily accessible by metro from Archives nationales.

For TrUST students already registered in the technical school at ALLS : Transport will be organized from your hotel/airbnb on Sunday, September 28 in the morning to get to Varennes and in the evening to bring you back to Montreal. For the 2 other days of technical school, we invite you to use public transport. All the information about this will be sent to you by email before the start of the workshop. You will also be provided with metro/bus tickets.

For people not registered in the technical school, but who would like to assist to the lectures in Varennes on Sept. 28, Sept. 29 and Oct. 3 : Please contact us. We will try to organize transport for Sept. 28 at least, since there is no public transport to Varennes on Sunday. For the other days, we invite you to use public transport.

Hotel room sharing

Here is a website to help room sharing with other participants : Carpool and Ride Share Signup Sheet for your Group. (groupcarpool.com) It is meant for carpooling, but it will also work for hotel rooms. You can use it to find a room-mate for the week.
