What is the STEM Showcase?

The STEM Showcase is an annual event to highlight STEM student research and projects. Typically an in-person event, we invite the community and prospective YSU students to campus to check out the opportunities available and see some of our facilities.

This is NOT a competition. There is no judging and no prizes. We simply want to highlight the great work our students do.

Who is the STEM Showcase for?

The showcase is for everyone. We encourage current YSU students, faculty, and staff to browse projects to see what else is going on in the college and maybe find future opportunities. We invite students who submit a project to ask their families and friends to check out the work they are doing. We will also promote the showcase to the community at large and to prospective STEM students.

When is the STEM Showcase?

The in-person event will take place on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 10:30am-1:00pm. Projects will also be viewable online beginning April 18th.

How do I participate?

STEM majors who wish to submit a project should do so HERE. Note only one submission per project is needed. Projects with multiple authors should work together to submit once or appoint someone to do the submission.

Anyone who would like to view the submitted projects will first need to register HERE.

What information do I need to submit a project?

To successfully submit your project, you will need the following things:

  • A project title
  • The names (ensure correct spelling) of any other group members and your faculty mentor
  • An abstract
  • At least one of the following, but more is better!
    • Research poster and/or power point outlining your project (strongly encouraged)
    • Pictures or other graphics
    • Any other supporting files

Keep in mind: These projects are publicly viewable. If you are working with a government agency, applying for a patent, or other certain situations, you need to be cautious with the information you publish.

How do I make changes after I submit my project?

Click HERE for instructions on how to make changes after you've submitted. You can make changes until April 15th.
