Welcome to the 137th AFS Annual Meeting
The American Folklore Society will gather for its 137th Annual Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, from October 18 to 21, 2025. The Virtual Meeting sessions will take place November 12-14, 2025.
Meeting Registration is Open.
Presenters must Register to remain on the listed on the program.
AFS is excited to engage partners before and after this year’s meeting in Atlanta from the Oral History Association, Society of Ethnomusicology. Stay tuned for more information as collaborations unfold.
The theme for this year's meeting is Restoring and ReStorying: Missing Stories and Moving Forward.

A special selection of JAF articles is available from now to Nov. 30, 2025, thanks to University of Illinois Press. You'll find Mathilde Lind's "Safety in the Field: A Reflection and Progress Report," which you'll want to read in preparation for the forum on this topic, which includes the author and two seasoned folklorist-fieldworkers.
