The International Conference on Fish Telemetry happens every two years, bringing together telemetry practitioners, resource managers, and technology manufacturers from around the globe to discuss the latest advances in the field, and foster collaboration across stakeholders. The Great Lakes Acoustic Telemetry Observation System (GLATOS) team is thrilled to convene diverse attendees centered around the theme of “Unraveling mysteries of fish to inform management and conservation”.  We anticipate up to 280 delegates from students to seasoned professionals, sharing their knowledge gained from telemetry studies of freshwater and marine species.

This will be the first time the conference has convened in the United States. Indeed, the conference only became international with the first hosting of the meeting outside of Europe in 2011, with Japan as a host. Since then, the meeting has been held in South Africa (’13), Canada (’15), Australia (’17), Norway (’19), and France (’23). We aim to solicit conference papers for publishing in a special collection within the Canadian Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences.

Due to the costs of hosting a premier scientific forum for international attendees, we are requesting support for the community and have put together a tier of support levels with various associated benefits for your consideration. We aimed to balance registration costs that are manageable for graduate students and supporting institutions and agencies, with being able to cover lunches and social activities to maximize ability of attendees to network with one another and form relationships and collaborations. A unique feature of this meeting is that there are no concurrent sessions so that all of the presenters benefit from full audience participation. We also include a break day in the schedule for attendees to socialize and network during planned local excursions while at the same time showcasing the beautiful scenery of Traverse City, on the shores of Lake Michigan.

If you have questions about sponsorship, please email icft@glfc.org. Thank you for your consideration of this request.  We look forward to having you among our supporters.
