The African Meteorological Society (AfMS) is committed to advancing meteorological, climate, hydrological, and environmental sciences across Africa through conferences, training programs, research collaboration, and professional networking opportunities.

To achieve this mission, AfMS regularly organizes scientific conferences and capacity-building events that bring together researchers, practitioners, students, policymakers, and operational professionals from across the continent and beyond. These events provide critical platforms for knowledge exchange, collaboration, innovation, and the development of solutions to Africa's weather, climate, water, and environmental challenges.

The successful delivery of these conferences and associated capacity-building activities requires adequate financial support. In particular, sponsorship is essential not only for event organization and logistics but also for enabling the participation of early-career professionals, students, and researchers who may otherwise be unable to attend due to financial constraints.

Recognizing the limited resources available to many institutions and National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs) across Africa, AfMS welcomes support from the international community, including meteorological societies, development agencies, philanthropic organizations, private sector partners, foundations, international organizations, and individual benefactors who share an interest in strengthening scientific capacity and resilience across the continent.

Such support represents an investment in Africa's future scientific leadership and contributes directly to improved weather, climate, water, and environmental services that support sustainable development, disaster risk reduction, economic growth, and climate resilience.
