Call for Proposals

The Call for Proposals is now closed, but this page remains live to provide information about its focus, themes, and dimensions for reference

The ANGEL Conference 2025 is a crucial event for Global Education research, and aims to showcase policy-related research work in the field and provide a platform for sharing new research and fostering collaboration among researchers, policymakers, and practitioners.

We are issuing a call for proposals, from academics, policymakers, and practitioners, for a wide range of sessions, including paper presentation sessions, symposia and workshops at this exciting event, with a deadline of 15 January 2024 (23:59 CET).

All proposals should demonstrate a connection or relevance to the event’s stated ‘Main Focus’ and Themes, as outlined on the homepage, and with Global Education and Learning, as defined in the European Declaration on Global Education in to 2050 ('Dublin Declaration').

Those who have their proposals accepted will of course be guaranteed a place at the conference. There will not be a registration fee for this event.

You should submit the details of your proposal through the online submission form on this website.

Please note that this is going to be a face-to-face event, with only the plenary keynote sessions broadcast online. The language of the conference will be English.

We particularly encourage submissions from those based in Low- and Middle-income Countries, from early career researchers (ECR), from projects that incorporate perspectives from diverse global contexts, and those that provide bridging points, or that involve direct collaboration between the academic community and policy and practitioner networks.

ECR submissions: Please note that if you are an ECR who is submitting a proposal, you should indicate whether you seek to present at the pre-conference event on 4th June, or within the wider event. Find more information about this on the homepage.

Multiple submissions: Only one submission can be accepted for any one individual as the lead author / presenter of a paper presentation. No limit for involvement in symposia and workshops.

Each submission will assessed by multiple members of an international selection committee comprised of members of the ANGEL Advisory Board, and representatives of the event partner organisations. You will receive a decision on your proposal by 31 January.

Financial support
Limited financial support is available to those who are presenting or playing an active role in the event such as leading a session. Priority will be given to presenting participants or speakers travelling from a Low Income or Lower-Middle Income Country that are not supported by an institution.
