The 18th Biometal Symposium

Following the successes of the past editions, we are proud to introduce and welcome you to the 18th Symposium on Biodegradable Metals in Conil de la Frontera, Andalusia, Spain, from Monday 24 to Saturday 29, August 2026.

This exclusively onsite event will emphasize its academic-conference-style with an openly discursive format, rather than a lecture and question-answer format. This style will be completed by the traditional discussions and the unconventional daily free-time sessions early in the afternoon. Behind the presentations, this symposium aims to discuss open questions on the session topics, new approaches, background knowledge, and personal views among the participants. Furthermore, discussions at the poster session will focus on specific topics and will encourage the participants to raise critical questions or help each other advancing the field of biodegradable metals.

Join us in sunny Spain, on this charming and relaxing Coastal region, for a unique experience enjoying the vibrant culture and beautifulness of Andalusia. The symposium will be held at the Hotel Ilunion Calas de Conil, where all the participants will be lodged, in a very charming, unexplored region, where foreign tourists are rare and the wilderness of the coast is enchanting. The hotel is located in a natural reserve close to the famous Xeres-Sherry wine is produced.

Note: Please register as early as possible to secure your place.  Aug 24 to 29, 2026 is a touristic high season in Andalusia. The hotel is located in a Naturalistic reserve and rather isolated. A block of rooms was reserved for us and will be assigned first arrived - first served basis.
