    About Dr. Beck

    Judith S. Beck, PhD, is President of the non-profit Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy, which virtually trains health and mental health professionals nationally and internationally in CBT. She is also Clinical Professor of Psychology in Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania. She has written over 100 articles and chapters as well as seven books for professionals and consumers. Cognitive Behavior Therapy: Basics and Beyond has been published in over 20 countries and its third edition (2021) includes a recovery orientation. Her online CBT courses have been taken in 130 countries worldwide.

    About Dr. Brotto:

    Dr. Lori Brotto is internationally recognized as a leader in sexual health research. She has mentored 149 trainees and evaluated psychological interventions for sexual dysfunction and genital pain. Her work influences practice internationally, with mindfulness now implemented in sexual medicine centres and recommended as front line care in international guidelines. In recognition of her contributions, she holds a Canada Research Chair in women’s sexual health, has received recent awards in mentoring junior faculty, excellent public education through media, book awards, and is listed among the top 2% cited scientists by Stanford/Elsevier (SCOPUS citations).

    About Dr. Fulton:

    Dr. Heather Fulton is a Registered Psychologist focusing on complex concurrent disorders. She trains Psychiatry Residents in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing at Royal Columbian Hospital. As the founder and director of Wayfinder Wellness Centre, she provides CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT)-based services. Dr. Fulton is certified in various therapeutic approaches, a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers, and serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of British Columbia.

    About Dr. Lebowitz:

    Professor Lebowitz studies and treats childhood and adolescent anxiety at the Yale Child Study Center. His research focuses on the development, neurobiology, and treatment of anxiety and related disorders, with special emphasis on family dynamics and the role of parents in these problems. Dr. Lebowitz is the lead investigator on multiple funded research projects, and is the author of over 100 research papers, books and chapters on childhood and adolescent anxiety including the bestselling Breaking Free of Child Anxiety and OCD. He is also the father of three great boys.

    About Dr. Coelho:

    Dr. Jennifer Coelho is a registered psychologist, and Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of British Columbia. Her research focuses on predictors of treatment outcomes in eating disorders, and evaluating the impact of clinician training and consultation in evidence-based treatments. She strives to integrate and apply research findings to improve clinical care for youth, their families, and the clinicians who provide care for eating disorders. When she is not working, Jennifer loves to travel - both within beautiful British Columbia and further afield.

    About Dr. Sogge:

    Dr. Kimberly Sogge, CPsych, is a registered clinical and health psychologist who specializes in compassion-focused and mindfulness-based interventions and who works primarily with physicians and other health care providers. She is a certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Teacher and Mindful Self-Compassion Teacher. She is a dedicated meditation practitioner in both the Theravada and Plum Village Rinzai zen traditions. Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Sogge is committed to supporting the growth of the profession and the next generation of psychologists. She is a mentor to supervised practice psychologists, a member of the Ottawa Academy of Psychology, the Ontario Psychological Association and is the Chair Elect of the Clinical Psychology section of the Canadian Psychological Association.

    About Dr. Mushquash:

    Dr. Aislin Mushquash is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Lakehead University. She teaches courses on child development, childhood mental health disorders, clinical interviewing, advanced psychotherapy, and research methods. Dr. Mushquash is an active researcher and director of the Coping Research Lab. Her research focuses on understanding and addressing maladaptive coping behaviours and innovative solutions to support emotion regulation and adaptive coping. Dr. Mushquash is also a Registered Clinical Psychologist, working at Dilico Anishinabek Fmaily Care, a First Nations-led organization supporting Indigenous children, youth, families, and adults within Northwestern Ontario. Dr. Mushquash provides consultation, training, and support to staff, and conducts psychodiagnostic, psychoeducational, and cognitive assessments, and individual and group therapy for children, youth, and adults.


CPA - Continuing Education Credits

The Canadian Association of Cognitive Behavioural Therapies has approval by the Canadian Psychological Association to provide continuing education credits for those keynotes, workshops and clinical skills trainings that are indicated on the schedule with the symbol. The CACBT maintains responsibility for the program.
