Poster Hall and Concurrent Sessions  

From Discovery to Impact: Advancing Health Equity in Pediatric Care Through Research, Innovation and Policy 

Children’s Healthcare Canada invites researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and advocates to submit abstracts for poster and oral presentations at our upcoming national conference in Calgary, Alberta. Together, we will explore what it takes to build equitable, accessible, and fully integrated child health systems—systems designed with and for children and families.

We welcome abstracts showcasing promising models of care, healthcare services, system innovation, research, or policy, that contribute to transformational change. Submissions should highlight innovations that strengthen our collective vision for child health in Canada and demonstrate clear pathways from discovery to measurable impact.

Accepted abstracts will be featured in:

Poster Hall - A hub for sharing scientific research, quality improvement projects, and innovations that are shaping the future of child and youth healthcare.

Concurrent Sessions - Oral presentations designed to spark dialogue, share evidence, and inspire action across disciplines and sectors.

Posters

Scientific Posters: This category provides early career and seasoned child health researchers with an opportunity to share your research with a national audience. Show us your completed projects or initiatives with realized outcomes.  

Quality Improvement Posters: Highlight your Quality Improvement (QI) projects that have made positive impacts on service delivery or at a system level. 

 Concurrent Sessions

This is a highly competitive submission process. There are ten (one-hour) spots for Concurrent Sessions at the Event. If your submission is not chosen, you can be considered for a poster.

To provide a variety of perspectives across the continuum of care, along with the criteria listed below the adjudicators will also consider:

Geographic representation

Organization type

Cross/multi - organization collaboration

Topic areas

AI and Precision Health

Health System Performance (access, quality, safety, efficiency, leadership)

Mental Health and Addictions

Health Informatics and Data

Evaluation Criteria 

Importance and relevance of the topic to child and youth healthcare system transformation, services, innovation and policy research

Clarity of the research aim(s) or question(s)

Appropriateness of methods and robustness of results

Appropriateness of conclusions, consistent with the methods and results

Importance of implications for health outcomes, practice, programs and/or policy

Quality of writing

Clarity of the initiative

Innovative nature of the initiative

Likely interest to conference delegates

Patient and family engagement
Consideration of equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in the approach, analysis, and/or implications

Please note the following registration requirements: All speakers and poster presenters are required to register for the conference. By doing so, you will have the opportunity to showcase your work and engage with an incredible community dedicated to children's healthcare.
