Coregonid Symposium 2026

16th International Symposium on Biology and Management of Coregonid Fishes
We are thrilled to invite you to the 16th International Symposium on Biology and Management of Coregonid Fishes (ISBMC)!
This exciting event will be hosted by the Saugeen Ojibway Nation September 21-25, 2026, in the vibrant lakeside community of Port Elgin, Ontario, located on the beautiful shores of Lake Huron in Saugeen Ojibway Nation Territory.
The 16th ISBMC will be a unique opportunity for researchers, resource managers, fishers, knowledge holders, and coregonid enthusiasts from around the world to come together, connect, and learn from one another. Whether you're passionate about fish biology, ecology, evolution, aquaculture, or community-based stewardship, there will be something for everyone.
We are especially excited to welcome and uplift Indigenous voices, knowledge, and ways of knowing. We warmly encourage Indigenous participation and presentations that reflect the deep relationships between people, water, and fish. Your knowledge, experiences, and stories are vital to the conversations we’ll be having throughout the symposium.
Over the course of the week, we hope you'll engage in meaningful dialogue, share your latest research, and build lasting relationships with colleagues from across the globe. And of course, enjoy the natural beauty, hospitality, and cultural richness of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation.
Information about the meeting, including deadlines for abstract submission registration, and our post-symposium tour will periodically be updated on the website.
Mark your calendars—we can’t wait to welcome you in 2026!
