Travel Awards

The 11^th Meeting of the Canadian Oxidative Stress Consortium (COSC 2023) will be held on the May 10-12, 2023 at the Jewish General Hospital (Block Amphitheatre B-106), a McGill University Teaching Hospital. The Montreal local organizing committee and several sponsors are offering a limited number of travel awards to students and postdoctoral fellows who wish to attend and present research at the meeting. Canadian and International trainees will be eligible. The number of travel awards will be dependent on available funds.

Please inform trainees about the travel awards because we do not have their contact information.

To be eligible, graduate students must be enrolled in an accredited full-time masters or doctoral degree program at the time of abstract submission. Eligible postdoctoral fellows must be engaged in full-time postdoctoral research and have no more than five years of research experience beyond their doctoral degree.

Abstracts will be reviewed by an evaluation committee and awards will be based on research merit. Travel award recipients will be notified during the week of 13 April, and will be announced at the COSC 2023 Banquet and Awards evening on Friday, May 12, 2023 at the Hotel Bonaventure Montreal, Salon Ville-Marie.

The deadline for abstract submissions for trainee travel awards is March 17, 2023.

Please send by email to Dr. Averill-Bates (averill.diana@uqam.ca) and Dr. Kostas Pantopoulos (kostas.pantopoulos@mcgill.ca) a half page text outlining the importance of the research results and the need for travel assistance. Please indicate your program and institution of study, dates of enrolment, and the name of your research supervisor. The travel assistance request needs to be signed by the trainee and their research supervisor.

Bourse de voyage

La 11e réunion du Consortium canadien sur le stress oxydatif (COSC 2023) aura lieu du 10 au 12 mai 2023 à l’Hôpital général juif (Block Amphitheatre B-106), un hôpital d’enseignement de l’Université McGill.

Veuillez informer les stagiaires des bourses de voyage parce que nous n’avons pas leurs coordonnées.

Pour être admissibles, les étudiants des cycles supérieurs doivent être inscrits à un programme de maîtrise ou de doctorat agréé à temps plein au moment de la soumission du résumé. Les stagiaires postdoctoraux admissibles doivent être engagés dans la recherche postdoctorale à temps plein et ne pas avoir plus de cinq ans d’expérience en recherche au-delà de leur doctorat.

Les résumés seront examinés par un comité d’évaluation et les prix seront attribués en fonction du mérite de la recherche. Les récipiendaires de bourses de voyage seront avisés au cours de la semaine du 13 avril et annoncés lors du banquet et de la remise des prix 2023 du COSC le vendredi 12 mai 2023 à l’Hôtel Bonaventure Montréal, Salon Ville-Marie.

La date limite pour soumettre les résumés aux bourses de stagiaires est le 17 mars 2023.

Veuillez envoyer par courriel aux Drs Averill-Bates (averill.diana@uqam.ca) et Kostas Pantopoulos (kostas.pantopoulos@mcgill.ca) un texte d’une demi-page soulignant l’importance des résultats de la recherche et la nécessité d’une aide au voyage. Veuillez indiquer votre programme et votre établissement d’études, les dates d’inscription et le nom de votre directeur de recherche. La demande d’assistance voyage doit être signée par le stagiaire et son directeur de recherche.

Presentation Awards

COSC 2023 will feature two Trainee Symposia for undergraduate and graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows. When you submit your abstract, please indicate if you would like to give a talk in the trainee symposia. There will be about 10 trainee spots available. A panel of reviewers will select the appropriate number of talks from the submitted abstracts. All trainee oral and poster presentations will be evaluated by a panel of reviewers. There will be monetary prizes for the three best oral presentations, and monetary prizes for the three best posters. Please inform your trainees about the presentation awards because we do not have their contact information.

Prix de présentation

COSC 2023 va aussi mettre en avant deux symposiums pour les étudiants de premier cycle et des cycles supérieurs, ainsi que pour les stagiaires postdoctoraux. Lorsque vous soumettez votre résumé, veuillez indiquer si vous souhaitez donner une conférence dans le cadre des symposiums des étudiants et post-doctorants. Il y aura environ 10 places disponibles. Un panel d’examinateurs sélectionnera le nombre approprié d’exposés à partir des résumés soumis. Toutes les présentations orales et par affiches des étudiants et post-doctorants seront évaluées par un comité d’examinateurs. Il y aura des prix monétaires pour les trois meilleures présentations orales et des prix monétaires pour les trois meilleures affiches. Veuillez informer vos étudiants et post-doctorants des prix de présentation parce que nous n’avons pas leurs coordonnées.
