Indigenous Affirmation: We pay respect to the Algonquin people, who are the traditional guardians of this land. We acknowledge their longstanding relationship with this territory, which remains unceded. We pay respect to all Indigenous people in this region, from all nations across Canada, who call Ottawa home. We acknowledge the traditional knowledge keepers, both young and old. And we honour their courageous leaders: past, present, and future.

Our policy for an inclusive conference: It is the policy of the Canadian Society for Molecular Biosciences (CSMB) that all participants, including attendees, vendors, CSMB staff, volunteers, and all other stakeholders at CSMB meetings will conduct themselves in a professional manner that is welcoming to all participants and free from any form of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation. Participants will treat each other with respect and consideration to create a collegial, inclusive, and professional environment at CSMB Meetings. Creating a supportive environment to enable scientific discourse at CSMB meetings is the responsibility of all participants.

Participants will avoid any inappropriate actions or statements based on individual characteristics such as sex, age, race, ethnicity, language, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, nationality, political affiliation, ability status, educational background, or any other characteristic protected by law. Disruptive or harassing behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated. Harassment includes but is not limited to inappropriate or intimidating behaviour and language, unwelcome jokes or comments, unwanted touching or attention, offensive images, photography without permission, and stalking.

Violations of this code of conduct policy should be reported to meeting organizers, CSMB staff, or the CSMB Director of Meetings. Sanctions may range from verbal warning, to ejection from the meeting without refund, to notifying appropriate authorities. Retaliation for complaints of inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated. If a participant observes inappropriate comments or actions and personal intervention seems appropriate and safe, they should be considerate of all parties before intervening.

COVID-19 Health & Safety: No, you are not having a case of déjà vu - we were originally slated to host this meeting back in 2020. That meeting was cancelled due to the developing COVID-19 pandemic. As we gear up to host the meeting in person in 2023, we are cognisant that the ongoing pandemic continues to present challenges. As of now, the policy of the conference is to strongly encourage masking and masks will be provided for your use. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Keep an eye on this space to changes in recommendations.

Refunds: The last day to request a refund (minus $50 processing fee) is April 19.
