Abstracts (400 words) and papers (6 pages) are welcome; templates for each are posted on the conference website, at www.csmecongress.org. Submissions must be pdf files. Note that the submission system (below) requires that you provide the abstract in a text box; please do that for both abstract and paper submissions, AND also submit your abstract or paper as a pdf file.

When submitting an abstract/paper, please designate whether this is a CSME submission or a CFDSC submission.

Both the CSME and the CFDSC will run student paper contests. If you're a student, and submit a paper on which you're the first and will be the presenting author, then please indicate whether you'd like to enter your paper into one of the student paper contests.

When submitting, you'll be asked to specify the abstract/paper authors; you'll also have to designate one author as the presenter. Please note that any attendee will be limited to a maximum of two presentations.

License and Copyright

Following the conference, online proceedings will be published on TSpace, the University of Toronto archive; license and copyright information is available here. By submitting an abstract or paper, authors agree to grant TSpace a non-exclusive license to "reproduce, distribute, and migrate the submitted work to new formats where necessary and feasible." Note, however, that "granting the license is different from transferring copyright. Copyright is never transferred to TSpace. Rather, by granting the non-exclusive license, copyright holders permit the University to distribute their work while retaining the right to pursue any other publishing ventures."

Finally, by submitting an abstract or paper, authors agree to the following:

"You represent that the submission is your original work, and that you have the right to grant the rights contained in this license. You also represent that your submission does not, to the best of your knowledge, infringe upon anyone's copyright.

If the submission contains material for which you do not hold copyright, you represent that you have obtained the unrestricted permission of the copyright owner to grant University of Toronto the rights required by this license, and that such third-party owned material is clearly identified and acknowledged within the text or content of the submission.

If the submission is based upon work that has been sponsored or supported by an agency or organization other than university of toronto, you represent that you have fulfilled any right of review or other obligations required by the agreement with such sponsor."
