Poster competition process

The 2023 poster competition will consist of two rounds as follows:

First round / Wednesday, November 15, 4:30 pm to 7 pm: For this first round, you will have 5 minutes to present your poster to a pair of evaluators who may or may not be from your discipline. A dozen finalists will be identified following this round.

Second round / Thursday, November 16: This final round will be based exclusively on the evaluation of the poster by a panel of 3 judges (without presentation). The self-sustaining nature of the information presented on the poster and the contextualization of your research work in relation with a northern issue will therefore be important aspects of this final round of evaluation.

Evaluation criteria

Posters will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

- Presentation of research topic (particular importance will be given to contextualizing your topic in relation to a northern issue. This must be included in your poster, as it will be part of the evaluation criteria for the second round).

- Poster quality (organization of information, attractiveness of poster, relevance of visual elements, quality of writing).

- Quality of the oral presentation (dynamism, ability to popularize the content of your poster, mastery of the subject).
