GAC-MAC-PEG 2024

Welcome to GAC-MAC-PEG 2024!

Let us all take a moment to reflect on the fact that Brandon University has campuses on both Treaty 1 and Treaty 2 lands, and we are a gathering place for people from many backgrounds and from around the world. In this way, we carry on the Indigenous customs of our home in Brandon, which is traditional shared territory between the Dakota, Anishanabek, and the National homeland of the Red River Métis. Today many other Indigenous people call Brandon their home, including the Cree, Oji-Cree, Dene and Inuit.

We look forward to hosting GAC-MAC-PEG 2024 at Brandon University in Manitoba. You can expect an excellent scientific program and a variety of field trips and short courses. This meeting will include all the expected GAC and MAC programming, as well the 10th International Symposium on granitic pegmatites with field trips and special sessions.

Registration is now OPEN! The registration fees can be seen at the bottom of this page.

Sponsoring and exhibiting

If you are considering supporting the conference or would like to have an exhibit, you can find all the relevant information here:

Volunteers

We will need several volunteers to help run the conference, most importantly assist in the presentation rooms: download and organize the presentations, start them, interact with remote attendees and presenters, and trouble-shoot minor technical issues (but not major ones: we will have a dedicated IT person on-site for that). We expect one person to volunteer for one day (morning and afternoon sessions).

This is a great opportunity for graduate students: in counterpart for their efforts, we will reimburse their registration fees after the conference.

All volunteers will have a chance to win a $100 voucher from Deakin Industries, a HydroFlask, and a few field supplies (compass, hammer, hand lens, field notebook, etc), courtesy of IRL supplies. And you get a cool T-shirt!

If you would like to volunteer, please get in touch with our Volunteers Coordinator Lauro (e-mail).
